Introducing EcoHacks, a student-run virtual hackathon dedicated to nurturing a love for programming into a catalyst for finding technological fixes to address environmental issues that plague our world. Our goal is to bring together motivated students of all experience levels to an event where they can develop industry skills, exercise and learn technical knowledge necessary to project building, and demonstrate vital communication and leadership skills all while putting their best effort towards improving the environment! On September 2nd-4th, an estimated 700 students will spend the weekend crafting projects, learning vital technical knowledge, and combining a love for programming with an initiative to solve global challenges.

Any application of technology that addresses one of the modern environmental issues is valid.

The winning team will receive a $200 cash value prize. Each team member (up until 4) will additionally receive a $375 value Wolfram award. This award is for a year of Wolfram|One Personal Edition plus a one-year subscription to Wolfram|Alpha Pro.

Best Women Hack
The best all-women team will receive a $100 cash prize for the whole team as well as Living Carbon Hoodies and Caps for each team member. Additionally, they will receive free Interview Buddy asynchronous interviews. ($13.50 value each interview)
Best COVID-19 Hack
The team with the best project that incorporates a COVID-19 element will receive a $100 cash prize in addition to Living Carbon Hoodies and Caps for each team member. Additionally, they will receive free Interview Buddy asynchronous interviews. ($13.50 value each interview)
Best Beginner Hack
1st place beginner will receive $50 in cash and Living Carbon hoodies and caps. Additionally, they will receive free Interview Buddy asynchronous interviews. ($13.50 value each interview)
